Day 11
Winston played some of his best tennis today. He was able to successfully control the match by using his big forehand. His forehand was the base of his victory today and he used it very effectively from the baseline. Having said that Winston needs to improve his game toughness because some games he played solid tennis and some game he played exactly the opposite (many easy mistakes). He fought hard today and pumped his fist high a few times. Great fighting spirit and will to win.

Our team had arrived to LA safely. For some reason it took ages to get out of LAX airport as both immigration and custom were packed with passengers and the lines were so long. I had to wait for over 2.5 hours before our team came out from the custom.

Today was one of my proudest day as a coach. Although I didn’t show it much to the kids but I was very proud of all of them.

Our team woke up very early this morning. We had our breakfast at 6:15 as we wanted to arrive before 7:00 so we could get enough courts for warm up and practice before everyone else arrives.

Our team got up around 630am this morning. I took the kids for running so that they could adjust to the weather and get over their jet lag sooner.

It was a very long day for our team, especially for coach Bhagat who left the academy at 645am and didn’t return until 8pm.

To our surprise the tournament venue is about 65km away from the academy which takes about 1.5 hours to reach. It is very far.

Although some of the kids couldn’t sleep well because the mattress at the academy is rock-hard, but overall everyone had a good night rest.

Croatian tour this summer went very smoothly. Beside technical, tactical and physical training kids got a chance to see some of the most interesting places on the Croatian coast and still had a lot of fun at the local beaches.

Happy 14th birthday to Michelle Lo. I guess her birthday brought her luck because she won both singles and doubles at Lakewood Championship.

Wallace and Michelle advanced to the final while Alastair lost in the semifinal. The kids also played their doubles matches today.
